Building Infrastructure for the Next Digital Economy
The internet has undergone several major transformations since its creation. The early internet, often referred to as Web1, was primarily a network for accessing information. Users could read and consume digital content, but interaction and participation were limited.
The next evolution, Web2, introduced interactive platforms that enabled users to create, share, and distribute content at a global scale. Social networks, digital marketplaces, and cloud platforms transformed the internet into a dynamic ecosystem of digital services.
However, Web2 also led to the concentration of power in large centralized platforms that control infrastructure, data, and digital economies.
In response to these limitations, a new paradigm has emerged: Web3.
Web3 introduces the possibility of a more open digital infrastructure built on decentralized networks, cryptographic systems, and programmable digital assets. Blockchain technology enables the creation of decentralized protocols where ownership, coordination, and economic incentives can be embedded directly into the infrastructure of the internet.
